Job summary

The Kroger Co. in Michigan seeks a Wine Department Associate to deliver exceptional service and create a safe, welcoming shopping environment. You will assist in achieving department sales and profit goals and uphold QA standards while promoting the Customer 1st strategy.

You will develop product knowledge, suggest suitable items, and support wine tastings. Must be 21+, with experience in retail and a passion for wine and customer service.

Qualifications

• Second language required (speaking, reading and/or writing).
• Knowledge of imported and domestic varieties, the flavor profiles and how they are made.
• Knowledge of industry trends in specialty wines and beers as they relate to the consumer.
• Experience working with wine and beer.
• Retail experience.
• Must be 21 years of age.

• Reinforce safety by following procedures and reporting unsafe conditions.
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting needs.
• Notify management of accidents, risks, or unlawful activity.

• Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notify appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents
• Report all safety risk, or issues, and illegal activity, including: robbery, theft or fraud
