Hy-Vee, Inc. is hiring a Wine and Spirits Assistant Department Manager to lead a busy department. You will supervise staff, manage inventory, and maintain the sales floor, stepping in as department leader when the manager is away.

Candidates should be organized, customer-focused, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced retail environment. Prior wine and spirits knowledge is a plus; the role requires a flexible, hands-on leader.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; related work experience preferred.
• Six months or less of related work experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service and greet customers with a smile.
• Supervise and assign work for evening and part-time crew; train new employees.
• Stock, rotate, and face products; review back stock and ad items.
• Order merchandise and control inventory as directed by department head.
• Monitor sales and suggest improvements to the Department Manager.
• Meet with vendors for point-of-purchase materials and display items.
• Oversee price tags, signage, and intercom selling.
• Handle customer issues with care and professionalism.
• Assume department leadership in the absence of the Department Manager.
• Unload trucks and ensure product stocking in correct areas.
• Clean displays and maintain equipment and floors; follow sanitation procedures.
