JOB STATEMENT
The Wine Planner reports to the Senior Manager of Winemaking and is responsible for interpreting/analyzing complex wine plans, scheduling and supply. They direct, schedule and monitor daily cellar and winemaking operations. They are familiar with standard operating procedures and basic winemaking procedures of the winery.
Essential Duties
- Meet daily with department manager to discuss operations
- Must have a full understanding of domestic bulk wine, export bulk winemaking process flow and management
- Schedule cellar processing operations and tank availability
- Assign blend and filter and follow up with winemaking on bottling blends and work orders needed to keep the timelines for equipment and scheduling on track.
- Monitor performance of cellar processing daily and provides real time feedback of progress
- Coordinate with production department bottling blends
- Review completed process orders to monitor adherence to the schedules and provide feedback on timeliness of work order validation
- Review processing equipment logs as it pertains to schedule adherence
- Monitor daily processing analysis and follow-up as needed
- Monitor weekly analytical analysis of bulk wines where needed
- Develop and utilize scheduling and planning tools as well as KPI’s to ensure success as well as challenges are measured.
- Works with the Sr. Manager of Winemaking on Wine and Grape Supply and provides technical support for tracking and reporting
- Other projects and duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of supply chain, production, operations or finance experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility
- Skilling reading, analyzing, and interpreting various reports and documents
- Skilled in presenting issues clearly and concisely, generating accurate analysis, with good understanding of the cause and effect that will occur with each alternative solution both inside and outside supply chain
- Skilled in using MS Word, Power Point and Exce
- Power BI and exposure to AI platforms
- Project management
- Vintrace or other MES /ERP systems relating to production /operations
- SQL certification
- APICS certification
Ability to:
- Coordinate multiple inputs and variables from winemaking and operations to govern alignment and timelines in an efficient, effective and positive way.
- Influence and encourage others to see all perspectives and think thoroughly about potential options to encourage the best possible outcome for efficiency and quality.
- Muti-task in a fast-paced environment
- Organize data, timelines and coordinate between winemaking and production teams (bottling and cellar)
