Job summary

Wine Industry Expo is seeking an Assistant Accountant to support month-end close, bank reconciliations, AP, payroll, cost accounting, and ERP rollout across a fast-paced winery environment in California.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of accounting experience, a Bachelor's in Accounting, and strong Excel skills. This on-site role offers growth and exposure to cross-functional teams in the wine industry.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of accounting experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and macros.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize responsibilities, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Proactive problem-solving and collaborative teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly reconciliations of bank accounts and balance sheet accounts.
• Manage accounts payable processes including invoice coding, vendor registration, billbacks, and validation.
• Support payment accounting activities including recording and reconciling payments.
• Perform payroll accounting entries and reconcile payroll accounts and liabilities.
• Review and reconcile employee expense reports and corporate Visa expenses.
• Assist Cost Accountant with cost analysis and costing entries.
• Perform inventory reconciliations and resolve variances.
• Prepare and post journal entries per accounting standards.
• Assist with ERP implementation including data validation and testing.
• Support special projects and other accounting initiatives.
