Job summary

2A Wine and Spirits in Milwaukee seeks a General Manager to lead daily operations, mentor staff, and elevate the wine program. You will own the guest experience, ensure outstanding hospitality, and partner with ownership on growth initiatives and event programming.

The role requires strong wine knowledge, proven leadership, and a passion for hospitality. Expect to manage staff, inventory, and customer relations while guiding sales growth and events in a boutique wine bar setting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hospitality experience (wine bar/resto/tasting room preferred).
• 2+ years of leadership experience with team and operations responsibility.
• Strong wine knowledge including varietals, regions, styles, producers, pairings, and price points.
• Wine certifications such as WSET or sommelier credentials are a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations: staffing, scheduling, opening/closing, POS, cash handling, purchasing, inventory, and operating standards.
• Drive wine strategy and experience, manage selection, ordering, inventory, pricing, and distributor relations.
• Create a welcoming guest experience for wine, cocktail, and non-wine guests, and develop the team through coaching and training.
• Lead Growth & Events: grow sales, traffic, repeat visits and manage wine club and private events.
• Partner with Owners on business performance, communicate results, and drive day-to-day decisions.
