Job summary

Critical Solutions is seeking a Windows Systems Engineer to support a federal customer at Norfolk, VA. The role focuses on Windows Server administration, patching, and cybersecurity compliance in classified and unclassified environments.

The position requires an active DoD Secret clearance and the ability to work an afternoon/night shift, Tuesday through Saturday. On-site work with a focus on mission-critical systems and collaboration across internal and external teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering/IT or equivalent with 7+ years experience
• 2–5 years of Windows Server in enterprise IT environments
• Active DoD Secret clearance or higher
• Current Security+ certification
• Ability to work Tue–Sat afternoon/night shift

Responsibilities

• Perform Windows Server patching, IAVA remediation, and security compliance activities across environments.
• Build, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022 systems.
• Support the full IT infrastructure lifecycle, including planning, installation, configuration, monitoring, upgrades, and decommissioning.
• Ensure Windows Server platforms remain compliant with policies, security requirements, and standards.
• Identify and resolve OS, infrastructure, patching, and application-related issues; support cybersecurity compliance.
