Job summary

RCG, Inc. in Washington, DC is seeking a Systems Administrator (Windows) to support a federal contract. This full-time, on-site role requires an active Top-Secret clearance and five days per week onsite; no remote work.

The successful candidate will install, configure, and maintain Windows servers and virtual environments, ensuring security, stability, and performance. Strong knowledge of Windows OS, virtualization, backups, and patch management is essential.

Qualifications

U.S. citizenship or permanent resident with active Top-Secret clearance.
Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or related field.
3–5 years of systems administrative experience.
CompTIA Security+ certification required.
Strong knowledge of Windows Server 2012R2, 2016, 2019 environments.
Proven Windows Administrator experience.
Familiar with databases, patch management, and LAN/WAN networks.
Knowledge of network security systems, intrusion detection, and data backups.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills; able to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers and virtual environments.
Assess system stability, security, and scalability of installed Windows systems.
Provide technical support for users and back-end systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve system and server errors.
Review error logs and respond to user-reported issues.
Monitor and update the Windows codebase.
Manage user access and system permissions.
Monitor system performance and perform regular maintenance.
Collaborate with IT managers on system and server upgrades.
