Job summary

BCforward is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer in Westerville, OH for a 12-month contract. You will develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to manage Windows environments, support image preparation, and verify OS configurations as part of deployment workflows.

You will diagnose boot and BCD-related issues, automate routine tasks, and document procedures. Collaboration with engineering teams is required to enhance reliability and security compliance.

Qualifications

• PowerShell scripting experience for files, processes, services, logs, and error handling.
• Strong Windows OS knowledge and administration skills.
• Familiarity with WinPE and deployment/recovery workflows.
• Understanding of Windows boot processes and BCD.
• Experience automating routine IT tasks.
• Ability to document work clearly and follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot PowerShell scripts for Windows administration, deployment, validation, and reporting.
• Support Windows image preparation and post-image checks, including OS configuration, services, updates, and verification.
• Work with WinPE environments and bootable media used in deployment and recovery workflows.
• Diagnose Windows startup and boot configuration issues, including BCD and related boot records.
• Automate repeatable operational tasks with logging, error handling, and clear results.
• Review deployment and system logs, identify failure patterns, and summarize findings for teams.
• Follow change controls, runbooks, and security requirements; document changes and procedures.
• Collaborate with internal engineers to reproduce issues, validate fixes, and improve deployment reliability.
