Job summary

BCforward is seeking two Windows Automation and Deployment Contractors to support imaging, deployment, and automation tasks in a Westerville, OH environment. The roles involve building and maintaining repeatable processes for preparing Windows systems, validating post-image configuration, and diagnosing deployment issues.

Ideal candidates will have solid Windows and scripting fundamentals, can follow documented procedures, and learn BCforward's tools and processes to deliver reliable automation

Qualifications

• PowerShell scripting with files, processes, services, logs, and error handling.
• Strong Windows OS and admin knowledge.
• Familiarity with WinPE and deployment/recovery workflows.
• Understanding of boot processes and Boot Configuration Data (BCD).
• Experience automating routine IT or system-administration tasks.
• Ability to troubleshoot methodically and document work clearly.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot PowerShell scripts for Windows administration, deployment, validation, and reporting.
• Support Windows image preparation and post-image checks, including OS configuration, services, updates, and app verification.
• Work with WinPE environments and bootable media used in deployment and recovery workflows.
• Diagnose Windows startup and boot configuration issues, including BCD and boot records.
• Automate repeatable tasks with logging and clear results.
• Review deployment and system logs, summarize findings for technical teams.
• Follow change controls, runbooks, and security requirements, document changes.
• Collaborate with internal engineers to reproduce issues, validate fixes, and improve deployment reliability.
