Job Overview
Transdev in San Francisco, CA is hiring a Window Dispatcher. The Window Dispatcher oversees road service through communication with Operators and provides customer support to clients. They assist in driver sign‑in and shift end, coordinating vehicle and other equipment assignments, in accordance with contractual obligations and company policies and procedures. The role requires clear, professional, timely communication with company employees and represents the company to its customers and the public in a courteous manner. We seek customer‑service oriented professionals dedicated to safety.
Pay: $23.55 / hour.
Position subject to Collective Bargaining Agreement: $23.55 – $24.25 (union pay scale). Starting pay $23.55 with progression to $24.25 over 1 year.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide manifests to drivers upon report; assign vehicles, radios and other equipment
- Accurately record driver shift start and end through VDS, Trapeze and/or other designated programs
- Coordinate vehicle needs and availability with maintenance, road supervisors and operations
- Monitor standby drivers; coordinate with Dispatch for their need and potential assignment to routes; relieve from duty when not required
- Coordinate with Dispatch to fill open runs or make driver or trip reassignments to ensure timely service
- Maintain records, logs, and schedules of driver assignments and reporting status
- Sign drivers out at the end of shifts; account for all equipment issued, review manifest, and prepare and report information as required
- Accurately prepare reports on all activities occurring during shifts or as requested
- Follow company rules, regulations, and instructions of management and supervisors
- Adhere to all regulations related to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
- Handle passengers’ personal property left on vehicles per Lost and Found procedures
- Communicate with Dispatchers, Scheduling, Reservations, Operations to ensure service provision
- Maintain confidentiality of passengers’ information
- Perform trip editing and/or VDS editing if assigned
- Perform dispatch clerical functions as relief
- Other duties as required
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED; Technical Degree preferred
- Problem‑solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work shifts or flexible schedules as needed
- Organize logical and efficient schedules and routes; adapt to changes
- Read, comprehend and understand a map
- Read, understand and interpret transit system operating rules, regulations, policies, phases and routes
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Clear speech and pleasant phone demeanor
- Use a multi‑line phone system and handle multiple tasks concurrently
- Interact professionally with internal and external customers at all levels; work well with diverse groups
Physical Requirements
- Work shifts or flexible schedules as needed
- Majority of work indoors, in air‑conditioned or well‑ventilated facilities
- Work in an office or cubicle equipped with a telephone and computer
- Long periods spent sitting, typing or looking at a computer screen
