Job summary

Transdev in Troy, OH is hiring a Dispatcher to oversee road service through communication with Operators and to provide customer support, with a strong emphasis on safety. The role requires 3–5 years of dispatching experience and a high school diploma or GED, with preferred technical training.

The Dispatcher will manage daily service, respond to incidents, and coordinate with carriers and emergency services as needed.

  • 3-5 years' dispatching experience.
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical per DOT rules.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee road service by tracking trip performance and on-time starts.
  • Provide customer support for questions and concerns about trips.
  • Manage emergencies for operators and liaise with emergency services.
  • Review route performance and proactively adjust daily service.
  • Other duties as required.

Benefits Include
  • Competitive compensation package of minimum $16.50/hour to maximum $20.50/hour
  • Vacation: up to 14 days per year
  • Paid Sick Leave: 8 hrs monthly full-time employees/ 5 hrs monthly part-time employees; medical, dental & vision after 90 calendar days of employment for full-time employees, life insurance, 401k retirement benefits, and company holidays.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee road service assigned carriers by tracking trip performance measures, route begin on time, performance, incidents, etc.
  • Provide customer support by responding to questions and concerns regarding customer trips including no shows, cancellations and missed trips.
  • Manage emergency situations for vehicle operators, act as liaison between the carrier and emergency services.
  • Manage daily service by reviewing route performance and proactively responding to situations that impact customer service.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications

  • 3-5 years' experience dispatching.
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
  • The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
  • Work environment will be a combination of both indoors and outdoors.
