Job summary

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma required.

• Comprehensive training provided for 1–10 weeks.
• Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and keen attention to detail.
• Proficiency with basic computer systems; ability to listen for machine malfunctions.

Responsibilities

• Configure and run bobbin and wire winding equipment per guidelines and instructions.
• Document and track by managing wire threading, counter adjustments, oil replenishment, and data logging.
• Produce finished bobbins to support inventory and maintain continuous machine operation.
• Retrieve materials from the warehouse to support production workflow and report issues to the lead.
• Adhere to 5S standards and general safety protocols to maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Identify mechanical irregularities and report to the Value Stream Team Lead to prevent downtime.
• Assist with additional tasks or support lower-level classifications as directed by management.

As a Winder Operator, your primary focus is the operation and upkeep of bobbin winding machinery to ensure production goals and quality standards are consistently achieved. You will collaborate with maintenance and warehouse staff while reporting to the Value Stream Team Lead to ensure seamless production flow. This position is based onsite during the second shift, which runs from 3:30 PM to 11:30 PM, and includes requirements for mandatory overtime.

Core Responsibilities

• Configure and run bobbin and wire winding equipment in alignment with manufacturing guidelines and specific instructions.
• Ensure accurate documentation and tracking by managing wire threading, counter adjustments, oil replenishment, and data logging.
• Contribute to efficient inventory management by producing finished bobbins and maintaining continuous machine operation.
• Support the production workflow by retrieving necessary materials from the warehouse and communicating operational challenges to your lead.
• Help maintain a safe and organized work environment by adhering to 5S standards and general safety protocols.
• Identify and communicate any mechanical irregularities or abnormal conditions to the Value Stream Team Lead to prevent downtime.
• Assist with additional tasks or support lower-level classifications as directed by management.

Required Qualifications

• Possession of a GED or high school diploma.
• Successful completion of required pre-employment screenings.
• Physical capability to stand for long shifts and perform tasks such as lifting, bending, twisting, pushing, and pulling.
• Prior production experience is a plus, though not mandatory, as comprehensive training is provided for a duration of 1 to 10 weeks.
• Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality output.
• Proficiency with basic computer systems and the ability to listen for machine malfunctions.

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this position is $16.60 to $20.75.
