Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA Inc. in Alamo, TN invites applications for a Winder Helper to support the OIP Bushing area. This entry level role provides hands-on training alongside experienced Winders to learn the winding process, read drawings, and contribute to production.

You will assist with materials, tools, equipment, and quality controls, with a focus on safety and teamwork. This full-time position offers apprentice-style growth toward a future Winder role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Willing to learn assembly drawings, measuring devices, and winding processes through structured training.
• Strong attention to safety, quality, detail, and teamwork.
• Interest in developing skills toward a future Winder role.

Responsibilities

• Prepare materials, tools, equipment, and work areas to keep the winding process moving efficiently.
• Learn winding process through apprentice-style training with experienced Winders.
• Support winding activities using winding machines, overhead cranes, lifting devices, hand tools, winding templates, tape measures, calipers, and other measuring devices.
• Read and follow assembly drawings, work instructions, and customer specifications with guidance from trained team members.
• Communicate equipment, material, quality, or process concerns to the Winder Operator, supervisor, maintenance, engineering, or quality team as needed.
• Participate in continuous training to build the skills needed to progress into a Winder role.
• Work safely within a team environment and follow all safety, quality, and production requirements.
• Operate a computer and learn specialized programs as needed to perform job functions.
• Stand and/or walk on hard surfaces for up to 12 hours per day and regularly lift or manipulate up to 35 pounds safely.
