Job summary

Kids for the Future is hiring for a winding machine operator to follow engineering specifications and support production on the shop floor. You will verify materials, load and prepare for winding, and ensure quality per SOPs while maintaining a clean, safe workspace.

The role requires basic math and reading skills, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and collaboration across shifts. A high school diploma is the stated minimum educational requirement.

  • Maintain clean and safe work area.
  • Assist with back-up for LV pre-assembly and provide on-the-job training.

Description

2nd Shift hours are from 3 PM-11 PM. Ritz offers a shift differential of an additional $0.59 per hour for 2nd shift on top of your regular base rate. Training will take place during 3rd shift hours, which are from 11 PM-7 AM, Sunday-Thursday.

SUMMARY

Operate winding machine per Engineering specification.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Verify raw material you will work with are correct according to your work order
  • Inspect material for nonconformances
  • Prepare material for winding
  • Load material onto winding machine
  • Strip insulation from end of wires
  • Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs)
  • Communicate with operators from other shifts
  • Clean and maintain work area
  • Other duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist mechanics and machinists in repair work
  • Perform back-up for LV pre-assembly
  • Provide on-the-job training to new employees
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent
  • The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing
  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required
WORKING CONDITIONS:

Working conditions are consistent with that of a manufacturing environment: loud, high-heat, and fast-paced. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds and strict adherence to PPE protocols. Equipment operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses and steel toe shoes, loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted. Hair that touches the shoulders must be pinned up so as not to touch the shoulder.
