Job summary

Pattern Energy Group Inc. is seeking an onsite Wind Plant Technician to maintain and repair wind turbines and related equipment.

The role involves climbing towers, diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, and performing preventive maintenance under the Facility Manager's direction. The position requires a technical certificate or equivalent experience, a valid driver's license, physical ability to lift heavy items, and willingness to travel between wind sites in the U.S.

Qualifications

• One year college or technical school certificate, or 12 months of related experience or wind industry training.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to climb 80+ meter steel towers daily for nacelle maintenance.
• Ability to lift 1–60 lbs frequently and 61–100 lbs occasionally.
• Advanced computer skills with word processing, spreadsheets, and facility systems.
• Willing to travel to other wind sites in the U.S. or Canada.
• Experience with maintenance and electronic testing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain wind turbines and related plant equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems from schematics.
• Repair or replace components per manufacturers' requirements.
• Perform preventive maintenance per OEM and Pattern Energy practices.
• Adhere to safety programs and internal controls.
• Operate and maintain service vehicle.
• Maintain tools in good order and organized.
• Prepare reports to meet wind plant reporting requirements.
