Job summary

Clearway Energy is hiring Wind Technicians at Trainee through III levels to perform wind turbine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs. The role emphasizes safety, hands-on technical work, and learning progression.

Salary ranges are provided for each level, with opportunities to advance after assessments. This onsite position may require travel and flexibility to support wind farms across the United States.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, or willing to obtain within the first 6 months of employment.
• Able to climb towers unassisted up to 300 feet; work outside nacelle and nosecone.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Demonstrable mechanical aptitude; no prior electrical experience required.
• Able to travel as required.
• Able to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams (preferred).
• Able to use Microsoft Word and Excel documents.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety procedures, observe safe practices, and maintain a safe work environment under direct supervision.
• Shadow and assist experienced technicians in wind turbine maintenance (mechanical, hydraulic, electrical).
• Document all work performed, parts used, and time spent using service reporting procedures.
• Maintain hand tools in good working order and well organized.
• Operate and maintain a service vehicle.
• Work a flexible on-call schedule including weeknights, weekends, and holidays.
• Demonstrate willingness to learn and take guidance from supervisors.
• Must pass an advancement exam and oral board within six months of hire.
• Assist in Level I/II/III scope tasks as assigned.
