Job summary

Clearway Energy Group is hiring a Wind Technician in Christoval, Texas to support wind turbine maintenance under the Wind Site Manager. The role spans Trainee to Level III with advancement exams after six months and a focus on safety and reliability.

The position requires climbing towers up to 300 feet, operating service vehicles, and willingness to travel. Training and hands-on experience in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components are emphasized.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, or willing to obtain within the first 6 months of employment.
• Able to climb towers unassisted up to 300 feet and work safely in nacelle areas.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Demonstrable mechanical aptitude; no prior electrical experience required.
• Willingness to travel and work in varied climates.
• Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams (preferred).
• Experience with hand tools and basic electrical knowledge (Level I) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment under direct supervision.
• Shadow and assist experienced technicians in wind turbine maintenance.
• Document all work performed, parts used, and time spent using service reporting procedures.
• Operate and maintain a service vehicle.
• Work a flexible on-call schedule, including weeknights, weekends, and holidays.
• Demonstrate willingness to learn and accept guidance from supervising technicians.
• Pass advancement exam and oral board within six months from hire.
• Other duties as assigned within the Trainee scope.
