Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company, via WECTEC Staffing Services, seeks a Mechanical Engineer for a client in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. This onsite, 1-year W-2 contract role requires wind turbine system experience, mechanical troubleshooting, and corrective action support on complex field projects.

You will work with Project Managers, OEMs, and contractors to develop technical solutions, ensure equipment reliability, and support maintenance and restoration plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3+ years of engineering experience supporting wind turbines, renewable energy assets, or comparable industrial equipment.
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical systems and equipment failures.
• Experience with GE, Vestas, Siemens Gamesa, or other wind turbine platforms.
• Experience with major component replacements and turbine mechanical systems.
• Proficiency in Smartsheet, Power BI, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for wind turbine maintenance and restoration projects.
• Perform root cause analyses and develop corrective action recommendations.
• Review repair procedures, technical reports, and contractor work scopes.
• Support major component replacements, blade programs, and reliability initiatives.
• Develop repair recommendations and engineering solutions for mechanical issues.
• Coordinate with OEMs, vendors, and internal stakeholders to resolve technical challenges.
• Assist with project planning, budgeting, and technical documentation.
• Support fleet-wide reliability and continuous improvement efforts.
