Job summary

Nordex Group seeks an experienced Commissioning Technician to test, troubleshoot, and repair wind turbines during the commissioning phase. You will join the global Nordex team, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery across projects and retrofits.

Role involves field work at wind farm sites, coordinating with site managers, and traveling domestically and internationally (70–90%). Strong problem-solving and leadership are essential, as is compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering preferred; or a 2-year technical degree in Wind Energy.
• 2+ years of wind industry experience recommended.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities with a structured problem-solving approach.
• Ability to supervise multiple activities, meet deadlines, and prepare reports.

Responsibilities

• Commission wind turbines and verify functionality per policies and procedures.
• Connect turbines to remote surveillance for testing.
• Perform fault analysis and identify root causes.
• Test electrical and mechanical protection systems; fix minor faults.
• Retrofit turbines following approved instructions; support O&M activities.
• Document issues and maintain accurate work orders; manage material and tools.
