Job summary

MasTec, Inc. is seeking a Wind Turbine Helper to assist in assembly, mechanical completion, repair and QC of wind turbines. You will climb turbines daily, help connect pumps and motors, and support load handling and surface protection tasks at various sites.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and adherence to procedures, with opportunities for training and travel to different job sites. A high school diploma or GED and related construction experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 6–12 months of related construction experience.
• Or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Certifications: Tower Rescue Training, LOTO, Confined Space; Wanzek Climb Training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promote and comply with all Company and safety policies and procedures.
• Complete all required Safety documentation.
• Climb wind turbines daily and assemble and complete wind turbines.
• Control suspended loads using taglines during component assembly.
• Bolt, align, and torque turbine components and fasteners.
• Signal equipment operators to position and move machinery as needed.
• Assemble pumps, motors and mechanical parts inside turbines.
• Apply coatings and caulking to protect surfaces.
• Grind or polish concrete and steel surfaces as required.
• Perform tasks with hand and power tools and dismantle forms as needed.
• Travel to different jobsites on short notice.
