Job description

Wind Tunnel Systems Engineer

Our Team

Welcome to the Audi F1 Project. Audi will be competing in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship from 2026. The new team has three locations: Audi's Motorsport Competence Center in Neuburg (Germany), the Sauber Group's Formula 1 factory in Hinwil (Switzerland), and the Sauber Motorsport Technical Center in the UK, which will be operational this year. Our Power Unit is from Neuburg, while Hinwil is responsible for chassis development and race operations.

If you are someone for whom giving up isn’t an option and limits are just something to be overcome, you can bring Vorsprung durch Technik to Formula 1 with us. Join this unique project and make motorsport history. This position is based at Sauber in Hinwil, Switzerland.

Your mission

  1. Research and develop wind tunnel and test object technologies (sensors, robotics, measurement technology, actuators, control, monitoring, calibration).
  2. Implement, support, and integrate retrofit and new projects to enhance wind tunnel systems.
  3. Develop and integrate wind tunnel system software and control software.
  4. Calculate and evaluate measurement data (sensor data from wind tunnel & test objects, calibrations, and technical metrology).
  5. Lead sub-projects within interdisciplinary teams.

Your profile

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree (ETH/FH) in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, systems engineering, automation, or equivalent experience.
  • Several years of professional experience in electro-mechanical systems development in mechanical or plant engineering.
  • Knowledge of programming languages and databases.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Proficiency in English; German skills are advantageous.
