Renewable Concepts seeks a highly skilled wind turbine technician with strong welding experience to support our operations. The role emphasizes advancing to a lead welder while performing welding and maintenance tasks in wind service environments.

The ideal candidate will pass multiple weld tests, demonstrate leadership, and have electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical skills. The position requires overtime, travel, and lifting capabilities, with safety at the forefront.

Qualifications

• Proven welding experience with wind service background preferred.
• Must pass specified weld tests (7018 SMAW uphill, FCAW; 4G overhead).
• Must have leadership experience and basic computer skills.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
• Ability to travel up to 6 weeks at a time.
• Must lift 50+ pounds regularly.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding and cutting tasks at elevated heights using appropriate equipment and safety measures.
• Complete weld repair in varying environmental conditions within various physical spaces.
• Prioritize safety by adhering to company and customer safety policies and OSHA guidelines.
• Conduct pre-weld and post-weld inspections to ensure quality and integrity of welds.
• Select, prepare, and handle materials and consumables required for welding tasks.
• Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and team members to coordinate work and meet deadlines.
• Operate welding equipment such as sticks, MIG, and TIG.
• Perform all mechanical and electrical component maintenance per procedures.
• Set up welding equipment including gas cylinders, regulators, and power sources.
• Interpret and work from blueprints, specifications, and welding plans.

This role is crucial to our operations, and we value our technicians' expertise and dedication. The perfect candidate for this position should have a strong background in wind services and advanced welding knowledge. Additionally, they must be able to transition quickly into a lead welder role.

Responsibilities

• Candidate must pass the following weld tests:
  • Pass 3G (uphill) 7018 SMAW (stick). Test coupon 1" plate open bevel.
  • Pass 3G (uphill) FCAW (Fluxcore / Dual shield). Test coupon 1" plate open bevel.
  • Pass 4G (Overhead) 7018 SMAW (stick). Test coupon 1" plate open bevel.
  • Pass 4G (Overhead) FCAW (Fluxcore / Dual shield). Test coupon 1" plate open bevel.
• Must have leadership experience.
• Must possess electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
• Ability to regularly work 50+ hours a week.
• Assist in the training and development of lower-level operation and maintenance personnel.
• Ability to travel for up to 6 weeks at a time.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly.
• Ability to work in inclement weather.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma.
• Welding School diploma preferred.
• Two or more years of welding experience.
• Two or more years of experience in wind services.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
