Job summary

RNWBL is seeking a highly skilled Wind Technician, Level 3 to lead maintenance and repair on wind turbines. The role requires strong GE platform knowledge, hands-on leadership, and a drive for reliability in renewable energy operations.

Candidates should have 3–5 years in wind tech roles, plus solid mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities. Must be able to climb and work at heights, with a valid driver's license and safety-minded approach.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience as a Wind Technician or similar role.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work at heights and in adverse weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on wind turbines and related equipment.
• Perform advanced diagnostics on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues focusing on GE platforms.
• Mentor junior technicians and train them on best practices.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to optimize turbine performance.
• Coordinate with Wind Operations and Site Lead to prioritize tasks and ensure safety and environmental compliance.
• Utilize data analysis tools to monitor turbine performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Assist with inventory management and procurement of spare parts.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to boost efficiency and reliability.
• Provide scheduled on-call support as needed.

About the role

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wind Technician, Level 3 to join our team. This position plays a crucial role in leading maintenance and repair efforts on wind turbines, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. Candidates must possess strong technical expertise with GE platforms (1X, 2X, converter, and troubleshooting), leadership abilities, and a passion for renewable energy.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities on wind turbines
  and associated equipment.
• Perform advanced diagnostics to identify and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, with a focus on GE platforms.
• Mentor and train junior technicians, enhancing their skills and knowledge.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to optimize turbine performance and longevity.
• Coordinate with the Wind Operations, Site Lead, and management teams to
  prioritize maintenance tasks and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Utilize data analysis tools and software to monitor turbine performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Assist with inventory management and procurement of spare parts to support maintenance activities.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
• Provide scheduled on-call support as needed

Qualifications:

• Proficiency with GE platforms, including 1X, 2X, converter, and troubleshooting. These are non-negotiable for the role.
• High school diploma or equivalent (Technical degree or certification in windenergy or related field preferred).
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Wind Technician or similar role, with demonstrated troubleshooting and leadership experience.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, with a deep understanding of wind turbine systems and components.
• Proficiency in hydraulic systems and troubleshooting techniques.
• Ability to work at heights and in adverse weather conditions.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Must live within 45 minutes of the site location.
• Must be able to climb 100m (300ft) multiple times daily.
