Job summary

Invenergy's Chickasaw Wind Energy Center, a 202.4 MW facility near New Hampton, IA, utilizes SGRE 3.1-129 and GE 2.82-127 turbine technology. As a Wind Technician you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the site.

Duties include performing routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on Siemens Gamesa and GE wind turbines and associated equipment; climbing turbine towers daily in full safety gear; troubleshooting faults; keeping tools and facilities in order; and working a 40-hour

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One year technical experience or education
• Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather
• Climb ladders and work at heights > 80 meters
• Move up to 100 pounds
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• US work eligibility without visa sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on Siemens Gamesa and GE wind turbines and associated equipment
• Climb wind turbine towers daily in safety gear to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment
• Understand electrical and mechanical functions of turbine components
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults and replace components
• Maintain tooling, facilities and equipment and a clean, safe work environment
• Work a 40 hour work week with scheduled and unscheduled overtime during peak periods
