Job summary

Pattern Energy is seeking a Wind Plant Technician to join our onsite operations team. You will maintain and repair wind turbines and related equipment, troubleshoot complex electrical and hydraulic systems, and perform preventive maintenance in adherence with OEM and company practices.

The role requires climbing tall towers, lifting heavy loads, and occasional travel to other wind sites in the U.S. or Canada. A valid driver’s license and technical training are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires 1 year of college/technical training or 12 months of related wind industry experience.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Ability to climb 80+ meter towers daily to perform nacelle/hub maintenance.
• Ability to lift 1–60 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
• Advanced computer skills and use of diagnostic and reporting systems.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and be on-call.
• Travel to other wind sites in the U.S. or Canada may be required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain wind turbines and related plant equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues from schematics.
• Repair or replace components per manufacturer specifications.
• Perform preventive maintenance per OEM and Pattern Energy practices.
• Maintain tools and organize work areas.
• Collect data and prepare reports for wind plant operations.
• Comply with environmental health and safety programs.
• Operate and maintain the service vehicle.
• Participate in on-call schedule and overtime as needed.
