Job summary

RNWBL is seeking a Wind Technician Apprentice to join our Registered Apprenticeship Program. This is a hands-on, paid training opportunity designed to prepare you for a long-term career in renewable energy, working on wind turbine or solar sites with real-world experience and technical instruction.

The 2-3 year program includes on-the-job learning (OJL) and related technical instruction (RTI), offering a clear path to becoming a certified wind technician.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver's license.
• High school diploma or GED; technical coursework preferred.
• Willingness to travel and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Able to pass background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Climb wind turbine towers safely using fall protection and perform tasks at heights.
• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair wind turbine systems per safety standards.
• Follow all EHS policies and site procedures.
• Assist in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems (e.g., wiring, hydraulics, gearboxes).
• Document work through logs, reports, and checklists.
• Travel to renewable project sites with extended overnight stays as needed.
