Job summary

Clearway Energy Group is seeking an Associate, Project Development to support and manage the development of solar, wind, and storage projects across the West region. You will interact with Business Development, Origination, Engineering, Finance, and Construction teams through the full project lifecycle.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in U.S. renewable energy development, strong permitting knowledge, and experience with interconnection and land acquisition.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
• Ability to navigate complex permitting pathways in the western U.S.
• Willingness to travel >25% to project sites.
• Minimum 2 years in U.S. renewable energy project development life cycle.
• Experience with land development processes and real estate elements.
• Strong scheduling and budgeting capabilities for multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop complex renewable energy projects from proposal through handover to construction.
• Identify approaches to reduce permitting risks and optimize schedules.
• Support due diligence on development-stage projects and portfolio acquisitions.
• Manage development service agreements and stakeholder networks.
• Collaborate with Land Acquisition, Engineering, and external consultants.
• Coordinate interconnection activities and project studies.
• Contribute to contract negotiations (PPAs, GIAs, EPCs) and financing diligence.
• Support origination marketing and responses to RFPs; manage budgets and timelines.
• Prepare management materials and stay current on market trends.
