Job summary

Clearway Energy is seeking a Senior Associate, Project Development to support and lead development across the West region, including California, Hawaii, and the Desert Southwest. You will work with land, permitting, EPCs, interconnection, and financing teams to move projects through origination to commissioning.

The role requires 4+ years in renewable project development, strong regulatory and real estate experience, and travel (>25%). This hybrid position is based in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, economics, finance, environmental science, or related field.
• 4+ years of renewable energy project development experience in the U.S.
• Experience across siting, permitting, interconnection, and EPC engagement.
• CAISO/WECC markets familiarity preferred.
• Ability to travel >25% to projects within Clearway’s West Region.
• Strong project management and budgeting skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage complex renewable energy projects from siting to handover to construction.
• Identify development approaches to reduce permitting risk and add project value.
• Perform due diligence on development-stage projects and portfolio acquisitions.
• Administer development services agreements and coordinate with local stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Land Acquisition to secure site control and interconnection facilities.
• Work with engineering and consultants on layouts, options, interconnection studies.
• Support interconnection requests, load-flow studies, and transmission planning.
• Support contracts negotiations for PPAs, GIAs, turbines, and EPCs.
• Assist financing diligence for cash equity, tax equity, and debt commitments.
• Coordinate with Origination for marketing and responses to RFPs.
• Create project budgets and schedules and present to management.
• Maintain industry relationships and monitor market trends.
