Job summary

Clearway Energy is seeking an Associate, Project Development to support and manage renewable energy project development in the West region across California, Hawaii and the Desert Southwest. You will work with Business Development, Origination, Engineering, Project Finance and Construction teams throughout the full lifecycle from origination to commissioning.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of utility-scale solar/wind project experience, strong siting and permitting expertise, and familiarity

Qualifications

• The candidate has professional renewable energy project development experience across siting, land, permitting, interconnection, and power marketing.
• Experience with EPC engagement and past project financing processes is preferred.
• Familiarity with CAISO and WECC markets is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support development of complex renewable energy projects from proposal to handover to construction.
• Identify approaches to reduce permitting risk and optimize development schedules.
• Support due diligence on development-stage projects and portfolio acquisitions.
• Administer development services agreements and manage local stakeholder networks.
• Collaborate to secure site control for generation and interconnection facilities.
• Evaluate site layouts, technology options, and interconnection studies with engineering teams.
• Coordinate interconnection requests and transmission studies.
• Assist in negotiating PPAs, GIAs, turbine and EPC contracts.
• Support financing diligence for cash equity, tax equity, and debt commitments.
