Job summary

Vestas is seeking a Wind Site Technician in Sheffield, IL to ensure reliable wind turbine operation. You will perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and system issue resolution, contributing to clean energy for local communities.

This role welcomes those from wind, electrical, mechanical, or heavy machinery backgrounds and requires English fluency. Training is provided, including GWO Safety & Technical Training, with PPE and equipment supplied.

Qualifications

• Wind Technician certificate or equivalent required.
• 1 year wind turbine experience or 2 years in mechanical/electrical fields preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and safety-focused attitude.
• Ability to work well in team-based settings.
• Must be able to read and follow instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair wind turbines with the team to keep communities powered.
• Adhere to safety protocols and perform safety inspections.
• Collaborate with teammates to improve turbine performance and share best practices.
• Document work and track task duration for operational efficiency.
• Communicate clearly to support effective maintenance and safety.
