Job summary

NextEra Energy is seeking a Wind Field Service Technician – Major Component to travel across our fleet performing large corrective maintenance and major component replacements on wind turbine generators. This role requires working at heights over 300 feet, coordinating crane movements, and maintaining safety throughout high-pressure environments.

You'll support rigging, torqueing, alignment, and troubleshooting of wind turbine systems, with weekend, night, and extended-hour work as needed.

Qualifications

• 1.5+ years in a technical field or completion of a technical certificate/degree program
• Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)
• Ability to climb a wind turbine up to 300 feet
• Experience with rigging, lifting operations, or crane coordination
• Willingness to travel extensively on a fleet-wide basis
• Weekend, night, and extended-hour work as required
• Experience in industrial or heavy equipment maintenance

Responsibilities

• Travel extensively across the fleet with little notice
• Perform major component replacements on wind turbine generators
• Execute precise mechanical work: torqueing, alignment, fastener verification
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical wind turbine systems
• Work safely at heights >300 feet with fall protection
• Assist crane movements and rigging during component removal/installation
