Job summary

Mercer University Wind Ensemble is seeking a Student Worker for the 2026–2027 academic year to assist the School of Music staff in the McCorkle Music Building. You’ll support daily administrative tasks and help coordinate ensemble activities under supervision.

Responsibilities include preparing folders, updating the ensemble library, managing concert logistics, and running the weekly Student Recital Hour. Must be a current School of Music student in good standing with strong communication skills.

  • Must have strong interpersonal skills.

  • Must have excellent grammar and spelling skills.
  • Must have the ability to work well without constant supervision.
  • Must be dependable.
  • Music background is required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with administrative day-to-day duties in the School of Music Band Area, in the McCorkle Music Building.
  • Copy, scan, and prepare Wind Ensemble and University Band folders, parts, scores, and rehearsal/practice resources. Keep them organized and available to members via Canvas OR Google Drive.
  • Update the Ensemble Library when new music arrives: stamp, record in excel, etc.
  • Logistics manager: needs to lead the concert production and equipment moves, including planning, executing, and coordination with graduate assistant, conductor, and percussion.
  • Student Recital Hour: students will be trained on the equipment and operations in Fickling Recital Hall and will be responsible for running the weekly Student Recital Hour, including recording, lights, backstage work, etc.
  • Set-up AND tear-down for every rehearsal.
