Job summary

Harnish Group Inc. in Williston, ND is seeking a Diesel and Natural Gas Engine Technician to maintain and repair diesel and gas engine components at our Williston branch. The role requires diagnosing CAT engines and related systems and ensuring job costs are controlled.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, vocational training, and experience with CAT products. Proficiency with Word/Excel and a valid driver’s license are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2–4 year vocational technical training or related experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, and basic computer skills.
• Experience with CAT engines or components preferred.
• Ability to diagnose, repair, and rebuild engines with supervision.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing and repairing Caterpillar engine and transmissions including removing, repairing, assembling, technical analysis, failure analysis, and installing.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot gas and diesel engines and electrical systems.
• Requires planning and organizing skills with emphasis on controlling job costs.
• Investigate, analyze, and identify the problem to provide effective solutions.
