Tractor & Equipment Co. in Williston, ND is seeking a Field Technician for diesel and natural gas engines.

You will diagnose, repair, and maintain Caterpillar engine components and transmissions, troubleshoot electrical systems, and manage job costs across multiple projects. Qualifications include 2–4 year vocational tech training or equivalent, a valid drivers license, proficiency with Word/Excel, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• 2-4 year vocational technical school or equivalent preferred.
• Valid drivers license.
• Proficient with computer software (Word, Excel).
• Ability to stand up to eight hours per day.
• Flexibility to travel for extended periods to work with customers.
• Experience at a Caterpillar (CAT) dealership or with CAT products preferred.
• Strong background in natural gas and diesel engines incl. electrical/hydraulic components.
• Ability to perform engine and component rebuild with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair Caterpillar engine and transmissions incl. removing, repairing, assembling, analysis, failure analysis, and installing.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot gas and diesel engines and electrical systems.
• Plan and organize to control job costs across multiple projects.
• Investigate, analyse and identify problems to make recommendations that eliminate the issue.
