Job summary

Harnish Group Inc. is seeking a Heavy Equipment Technician at our Williston, ND branch. You will diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair Caterpillar engines and hydraulic systems, using CAT diagnostic equipment and tooling.

A valid CDL and ability to operate lifts and presses are required. We offer a strong benefits package and opportunities for growth within a long‑standing, family‑owned CAT dealer with a history dating back to 1929.

Qualifications

• A graduate of a 2-4 year vocational technical school or equivalent experience is required.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Ability to operate a forklift and other equipment safely.
• Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot engines, powertrains, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Diagnose and repair Caterpillar equipment including removing, repairing, assembling and installing.
• Plan and organize to control job costs.
• Investigate and identify problems and make recommendations to prevent recurrence.
• Experience with CAT equipment and tooling preferred.
