WilliamsElectric, a division of R.W.Warner, Inc., is seeking a Chief Electrical Estimator to lead the estimating department, oversee bid preparation and review, set bid strategy, and collaborate with leadership to win profitable work. The role emphasizes mentoring the estimating team, maintaining cost data, and leveraging historical data to improve accuracy.

Responsibilities include building client relationships, negotiating favorable pricing, and ensuring smooth handoffs to project management.

Qualifications

• Experience as electrician in the electrical construction industry.
• 3-5 years as Electrical Estimator, including 1-2 years in a senior/supervisory role.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications and technical documents.
• Proven track record of highly accurate estimates for commercial/industrial projects.
• Demonstrated leadership to train, develop and motivate an estimating team.
• Strong business acumen with understanding of job costing, margins and risk.
• Excellent negotiation and client relationship skills.
• Outstanding proposal writing and presentations.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage the estimating team including assigning projects and workload.
• Review and approve all estimates and proposals for accuracy and profitability.
• Develop bid strategy and make go/no-go recommendations with leadership.
• Estimate small to large, complex, or high-priority projects.
• Establish and maintain estimating standards, procedures and best practices.
• Build and maintain historical cost data, labor units and pricing databases.
• Identify risks and scope gaps and recommend value engineering opportunities.
• Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors for favorable pricing and terms.
• Build strong relationships with general contractors, owners and key clients.
• Lead pre-bid meetings, site walks and post-bid reviews to understand client needs.

• Identifyprojectrisks,scopegaps,andexclusions,andrecommendvalueengineeringopportunitiestoincreasecompetitivenessandprofitability.
• Negotiatewithsuppliers,subcontractors,andserviceproviderstosecurefavorablepricingandterms.
• Buildandmaintainstrongrelationshipswithgeneralcontractors,owners,andkeyclients.
• Leadpre-bidmeetings,sitewalks,andpost-bidreviewstounderstandclientneedsandanalyzewin/lossresults.
• Ensureasmoothhandoffofawardedprojectstoprojectmanagementandfieldoperations,includingbudgets,schedules,andscopedetails.
• Compareestimatedversusactualjobcoststorefinefuturebids.
• Trackthebidpipelineandreportonestimatingactivity,hitrates,andforecaststoleadership.

RequiredSkills/Abilities

• Previousexperienceasanelectricianorintheelectricalconstructionindustry.
• 3-5yearsofexperienceasanElectricalEstimator,includingatleast1-2yearsinaseniororsupervisoryestimatingrole.
• Expertabilitytointerpretblueprints,specifications,andtechnicalandnon-technicaldocuments.
• Proventrackrecordofproducinghighlyaccurateestimatesforawidevarietyofcommercialandindustrialelectricalprojects.
• Demonstratedleadershipexperience,withtheabilitytotrain,develop,andmotivateanestimatingteam.
• Strongbusinessacumenandasolidunderstandingofjobcosting,margins,andrisk.
• Exceptionalquantitative,negotiation,andclientrelationshipskills.
• Outstandingproposalwritingandpresentationskills.
• Abilitytomanagemultipledeadlinesandprioritiesinafast-pacedenvironment.
• Dependable,conscientious,andwell-spoken.
• ProficiencyinMicrosoftplatforms(Outlook,Word,Excel).

Preferred,butNotRequiredSkills/Abilities

• AdvancedexperiencewithAccubidAnywhereestimatingsoftware,includingdatabasemanagementandadministration.
• Experiencewithdigitaltakeoffsoftware(e.g.Bluebeam,Trimble).
• KnowledgeofNECcoderequirements.

SalaryRange:$100,000to$125,000annually.Salarywillbenegotiablebasedonknowledgeandexperience.
