Flyaway Geese is seeking a Wildlife Management Field Specialist for our Charlotte-area operations. The role is full-time and field-based, with travel to commercial properties and hands-on work alongside trained Border Collies to manage Canada geese.
You will learn goose behavior, perform field visits, document counts, and interact professionally with clients. Training is provided, and willingness to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and varied schedules is essential.
Flyaway Geese | Full-Time | Year-Round
Want a job where your office is outdoors and your coworker is a Border Collie?
Flyaway Geese is hiring a full-time Wildlife Management Field Specialist for our Charlotte-area operations.
For nearly 30 years, Flyaway Geese has provided professional, humane Canada goose management using highly trained working Border Collies. Our teams work at corporate campuses, universities, parks, apartments, healthcare facilities and other commercial properties.
No goose-control or Border Collie experience is required. We will train the right person.
What we can't train is reliability, judgment, work ethic and the ability to work independently.
THIS IS NOT A 9–5 DESK JOB
Canada geese don't work business hours.
Our work often requires early mornings, evenings, weekends and changing schedules based on bird activity.
Some days are easy. Some are hot, cold, wet, muddy or long.
If you need the exact same schedule and routine every day, this probably isn't the right job.
If you like being outside, working independently and having every day be a little different, you may love it.
We're looking for someone who is:
We will teach you how to work with our trained Border Collies.
In fact, we're more interested in finding someone with excellent judgment, reliability and work ethic than someone who simply loves dogs.
But none is required for an exceptional candidate.
Flyaway Geese has specialized in humane Canada goose management using trained Border Collies for nearly 30 years.
Our dogs and handlers work on properties ranging from universities and parks to healthcare campuses and major commercial facilities.
This is a specialized profession, and we provide the training.
For the right person, this can become much more than a field job. We're looking for someone who can grow into greater responsibility within our Charlotte operations.
