Job summary

The Colorado Department of Public Safety’s Division of Fire Prevention and Control seeks a Module Lieutenant to lead firefighting modules, provide incident response leadership, and mentor crew members.

The role requires NWCG qualifications, documented wildland firefighting experience, and readiness to travel across Colorado; the position is 100% in-person with potential extended shifts.

Qualifications

• Two years of documented professional wildland firefighting experience.
• Qualification to the NWCG Crew Boss - Single Resource (CRWB).
• May substitute ENGB or HMGB qualifications plus leadership of crews.
• Upload NWCG qualification records (IQS/IQCS).

Responsibilities

• Lead module operations during fire suppression and incident response.
• Oversee non-wildfire incident response as trained.
• Maintain safety inspections and incident documentation.
• Mentor crew and manage training plans.
• Compile incident documentation (Crew Time Reports, etc.).
