Job summary

State of Colorado seeks a Fuels Module Crewmember within the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control (DFPC). The role focuses on wildfire suppression, fuels management, and prescribed fire projects, operating as part of a crew under NWCG standards.

Applicants must meet FFT2 NWCG standards, have 2+ years of wildland fire experience, and may hold FFT1/ICT5/HECM qualifications. Expect extensive travel, rigorous physical demands, and in‑person work across Colorado.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of wildland fire, fire service, fuels management or related experience.
• Qualification to NWCG standards as a Firefighter Type 2 (FFT2).
• NWCG qualifications such as FFT1, ICT5, HECM are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform wildland fire suppression and incident response as part of a fuels module crew.
• Assist with prescribed fire and fuels reduction projects and related training.
• Engage in incident response, safety inspections, and equipment maintenance.
