Job summary

The State of Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control (DFPC) seeks a Helicopter Lieutenant to lead a full-time helicopter module based in Montrose. The role provides work lead responsibilities in wildland fire suppression, incident response, and related preparedness.

You will supervise crews, coordinate deployments, ensure safety, and guide training and documentation. Applicants must have two years of wildland firefighting experience and NWCG HMGB qualification, with a plan to achieve

Qualifications

• Two years of documented professional wildland firefighting experience.
• Qualification to the NWCG Helicopter Manager - HMGB.
• Plan to attain DFPC Aircrew Mission Specialist (AMS) Task Book within one year.

Responsibilities

• Lead helicopter module operations during fire suppression and incident response.
• Coordinate helicopter and crew deployment and safety.
