Job summary

HorseShoe Beverage Company seeks AmeriCorps members for the 2027 Wildland Fire Mitigation and Chainsaw Crew in New Mexico. This program with Conservation Legacy/CCNM places crews on public lands, primarily around Las Cruces, performing forest management, fire mitigation, and prescribed-burn tasks with public land partners.

Members must be U.S. citizens or eligible residents, be at least 17, and have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• United States citizen, United States national, or a lawful permanent resident alien
• At least 17 years of age
• Has received a high school diploma or equivalency certificate; or has not dropped out of elementary or secondary school to enroll as an AmeriCorps participant, and agrees to obtain a high school diploma or its equivalent prior to using the education award
• Agrees to provide information to establish eligibility and to complete a National Service Criminal History Check.

Responsibilities

• CCNM AmeriCorps members serve a term of National Service in the State of Arizona and parts of the Southwest on professionally supervised crews.
• Members serve in all weather conditions, working on a variety of projects focused on environmental conservation and habitat restoration.
