Job summary

BurnBot seeks an Assistant Fire Module Leader to help lead field crews executing wildfire, prescribed fire, UAS, DSI and related fire operations. Role is hands-on, field-based, and non-supervisory, linking field execution with the Fire Module Leader.

Preference given to candidates near Placerville, CA or Medford, OR, but all qualified applicants will be considered. Hourly pay range is $36–$43, placement based on experience and certifications.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in wildland fire, fuels mitigation, vegetation management, or prescribed fire operations.
• Demonstrated experience leading crews in field operations.
• Strong working knowledge of field safety practices and regulatory compliance.
• Physical ability to perform demanding field work (lifting up to 50 lbs, uneven terrain, long days outdoors).
• NWCG qualified ENGB or CRWB.

Responsibilities

• Directs activities of Fire Module Crewmembers in daily field activities.
• Assists with tasks, sequencing of work, and crew pacing to meet safety and productivity expectations.
• Provide real-time coaching, feedback, and corrective direction to crewmembers.
• Ensure work is executed according to burn plans, SOPs, and company standards.
• Identify hazards and manage risk; exercise stop-work authority when needed.
