Job summary

The Toledo Zoo & Aquarium in Toledo, OH is seeking a part-time Wild Toledo Native Landscape Technician to support its native landscaping initiative. Wild Toledo Native Landscape Technician (Part- Time)
Toledo Zoo & Aquarium

The Toledo Zoo & Aquarium has been educating, inspiring, and providing enjoyment to our community for over 100 years. Our Conservation department is currently seeking a Part- Time Native Landscape Technician who is passionate about learning new things and giving our guests the best possible experience.

Under limited supervision, the Wild Toledo Landscape Technician will work with the Wild Toledo Coordinator and Wild Toledo Native Landscape designer to perform a variety of duties related to the operation of Wild Toledo’s native landscaping initiative. Landscape sites span a variety of locations including the Toledo Zoo campus as well as municipalities, schools, corporations, and private residences throughout the region.

Minimum Training and Experience
  • Must be 18+ years of age.
  • Must possess a valid drivers’ license and be insurable by the fleet insurance carrier.
  • Preference will be given to current biology or horticulture students as well as those with degrees in the field.
  • Ability to work in regular field conditions that may include heat, humidity, rain, insect bites, and stings.
  • Traveling to various locations throughout the NW Ohio and SE Michigan Areas.
  • Some minimal travel over an hour away in a day.
  • Some weekend work required.
  • The Toledo Zoo is a drug-free workplace, including marijuana.
