Job summary

The Toledo Zoo & Aquarium is seeking a Grounds Crew member to help maintain clean, safe spaces across the park. You will handle custodial and grounds maintenance, ensuring restrooms, walkways, seating areas and other public spaces remain spotless for guests.

Role aligns with the Park Facilities & Grounds team, reporting non-exempt status under the Fair Labor Standards Act. Full-time and part-time opportunities may be available, with a drug-free workplace and equal opportunity employment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Flexibility to work a variable schedule, including weekdays, weekends and holidays.
• Must have the physical ability to work on your feet up to 8 hours a day and walk the grounds for several hours.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in the summer heat/winter cold.
• Understand the importance of a clean and safe working environment.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
• The Toledo Zoo is a drug-free workplace, including marijuana.

We are seeking an individual who is passionate about keeping spaces clean, safe, and well-maintained while being able to work in a team and independently. This position will handle custodial and grounds maintenance, ensuring that restrooms, walkways, seating areas and other public spaces remain spotless and welcoming for our guests. You will be responsible for sanitation, cleaning and the upkeep of designated areas. In this role, you will monitor and report safety concerns, establish safety protocols, and assist with additional tasks as needed.

This role reports to the Park Facilities & Grounds Manager and is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Minimum Training & Qualifications:
