Job summary

The Toledo Zoo & Aquarium is seeking a part-time Camp & Family Programmer to lead Summer Camps, preschool and parent/child programs, and assist across education programming. You will work with the Education Department to create engaging guest experiences and support learners of all ages.

Ideal candidates have some college coursework and a background in sciences or education; 21+ with a valid driver's license is required, and First Aid/CPR is preferred.

Qualifications

• Up to 2 years of college coursework with experience leading classrooms or teaching in an informal education setting preferred.
• Background and experience in animal sciences, education, environmental or natural sciences a plus.
• Must be 21+ years of age or older and have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate Summer Camps, preschool programs, and parent/child programs in the Toledo Zoo’s Education Department.
• Support educational programming in other areas of the education department as needed.
• Report to the Education Program Manager; position is non-exempt under FLSA.

The Toledo Zoo & Aquarium has been educating, inspiring, and providing enjoyment to our community for over 100 years. Our Education department is currently seeking a part-time Camp and Family Programmer who is passionate about learning new things and giving our guests the best possible experience.

This role is responsible for facilitating programming in the Toledo Zoo’s Education Department. The focus of this position will be on facilitating Summer Camps, preschool programs, and parent/child programs. This individual would also support educational programming in any area of the education department.

This position reports to the Education Program Manager and is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Minimum Training & Experience

• Up to 2 years of completed college coursework with experience leading classrooms or teaching in an informal education setting preferred.
• Background and experience in animal sciences, education, environmental or natural sciences a plus.
• Must be 21+ years of age or older
• Must have a valid drivers’ license and be insurable by the fleet insurance carrier.
• First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
• Pre-employment screening and background check are required.
