Job summary

Piworld in Minnesota is seeking an employee to operate large format printing equipment. You will be trained on our Vanguard flatbed and Mutoh roll feed printers and may cross-train into digital printing as workload allows.

Must be knowledgeable in Adobe software and MS Office; a high school diploma or equivalent is expected, and prior printing/manufacturing training is a plus. This is a day position with flexible hours and opportunities to grow with the shop.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual or semi-automated large format printers.
• Inspect first-off pieces and perform quality checks for registration, depth, and dimensions.
• Manage paper, stock feeds, caliper and weight adjustments.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and troubleshoot issues mid-run to minimize downtime.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment per company guidelines.

Job description

We are seeking an individual for employment for our large format poster/banner printing equipment. We will train you on our equipment but previous experience is recommended in this field.

Must be knowledgeable in all the Adobe software's for design and layout. This is a day position with flexible hours.

We have one Vanguard flatbed printer and one Mutoh roll feed printer. May be cross trained into digital printing also.

Other job duties may be assigned as well if job load is light.

Key Responsibilities

• Machine Setup & Operation:Set up and operate manual or semi-automated large format printers.

• Quality Control:Inspect first-off pieces and conduct regular quality checks throughout production runs to ensure registration, depth, and dimensions meet quality standards.

• Substrate Handling:Manage paper, paperboard, stock feeds, adjusting machine settings for different calipers, weights.

• Maintenance & Troubleshooting:Perform routine preventative maintenance (lubrication, cleaning) and troubleshoot mechanical or cutting issues mid-run to minimize downtime.

• Safety & Documentation:Maintain a clean, safe work environment set by company safety guidelines.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience:Minimum of 1 year of experience operating large format printers in the printing industry.

• Technical Knowledge:Adobe software creative suite and MS office.

• Mechanical Aptitude:Ability to use hand tools for machine adjustments and cutter knifes for trimming prints.

• Detail-Oriented:Excellent eyesight and attention to detail to spot minor defects, registration shifts, or structural flaws.

• Physical Stamina:Ability to stand for periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Education:High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in printing/manufacturing is a plus.
