The WIC Program Nutritionist will be based in our Middletown, NJ office and is responsible for providing nutrition assessments and counseling to eligible participants in the WIC Program.

Responsibilities
  • Support the organization’s mission by striving for excellence and fostering positive interpersonal relationships with co-workers.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service to ensure a positive patient experience.
  • Complete comprehensive nutrition health assessments to determine WIC Program eligibility.
  • Assess the needs of WIC participants for special formulas.
  • Provide nutrition education in appropriate formats.
  • Develop and maintain a network of social services, food resources, and community contacts.
  • Assess daily clinic flow and make necessary adjustments.
  • Adhere to agency infection control and safety policies.
  • Follow organizational policies regarding absenteeism and appearance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Food and Nutrition from an accredited Plan IV, V, or Didactic Program of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics OR Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
  • Approval from NJ State WIC Office required.
  • Experience working with culturally diverse populations.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands

This role involves working in a busy clinic environment at various community locations. The position requires the ability to carry/lift 40 lbs, set up tables and chairs, transport supplies and equipment to clinics, and manage laptop and related equipment.

In accordance with New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the total compensation range for this position is USD $39,780.00 to USD $100,741.88. Compensation is determined based on role responsibilities, experience, education, skills, internal pay equity, and market conditions. For more information on benefits, please visit our Careers page.
