The WIC Program Nutritionist will be based out of our office in Middletown, NJ and is responsible for providing nutrition assessment and counseling to ensure WIC Program services are provided to eligible participants.
Responsibilities
- Supports organization’s mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of their job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationship with co-workers
- Delivers a high level of customer service to assure positive patient experience
- Completes comprehensive nutrition health assessment to determine WIC Program eligibility
- Assesses needs of WIC participants for special formula
- Provides nutrition education in appropriate format
- Develops and maintains network of social services, food and community resources
- Assesses daily clinic low and makes adjustments as necessary
- Adheres to agency infection control and safety policies
- Adheres to the organization’s policy in regards to absenteeism and appearance
Qualifications
- BS in Dietetics, Food and Nutrition from accredited Plan IV, V or Didactic Program of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics OR Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
- Approval from NJ State WIC Office required
- Experience with culturally diverse population
- Strong communication, customer service and interpersonal skills
- Computer experience preferred
- Valid drivers license
Working Conditions/Physical Demand : Busy clinic environment at various locations in the community; ability to carry/lift 40 lbs; requires setting up tables and chairs; requires transporting supplies and equipment to WIC clinics; responsible for laptop and related equipment
In compliance with New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the total compensation range for this position is USD $39,780.00 to USD $100,741.88. When determining an offer, VNA Health Group considers factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's work experience, education/training, relevant skills, internal pay equity, and market and organizational conditions. The total compensation range reflects the total package, including base salary, overtime, bonuses, add-on incentives, special clinical compensation, retirement plans, and all other benefits.
