Job summary

Thundermist Health Center Woonsocket is seeking a WIC Program Manager to oversee the Woonsocket WIC Program, balancing direct nutrition counseling (≈32 hours/week) with program administration (≈8 hours/week). You’ll supervise staff and coordinate with the state WIC agency and community partners to ensure compassionate, high-quality care for families.

Required include a Bachelor’s in Nutrition/Dietetics, 2+ years supervisory experience, OSHA blood-handling training, strong communication skills,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition Dietetics from an accredited program.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Blood handling training (OSHA, hematological and anthropometric measures).
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills with proficiency in medical terminology.
• Commitment to patient-centered, high-quality care for diverse and underserved populations, with a focus on health equity.

Responsibilities

• Perform nutrition assessments for WIC participants and perinatal patients.
• Assess hematological and anthropometric data to inform care plans.
• Develop individualized nutrition plans to improve health outcomes.
• Provide approximately 32 hours per week of direct nutrition counseling.
• Coordinate nutrition services and referrals with community agencies and Thundermist providers.
• Supervise WIC staff, including training, scheduling, and performance oversight.
• Manage patient flow and ensure efficient, positive clinic experiences.
• Conduct quality assurance reviews of WIC charts and documentation.
