Job summary

County of Mendocino seeks a skilled nutrition professional to lead the WIC program, supervise staff, and coordinate services across sites. The role involves researching nutrition laws, preparing reports, and developing budget proposals for grant applications.

The candidate will craft educational materials for diverse communities and collaborate with health professionals to promote maternal and child nutrition and health programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition Science, Clinical Dietetics, Public Health Nutrition, Dietetics or related field; and two years of progressively responsible experience.
• Equivalent combination of education, training and experience may meet the requirements.
• Current Registered Dietitian registration is required or in some cases may be required per job.
• Valid California driver's license or ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff and oversee interviewing, hiring, training, and performance appraisals.
• Coordinate WIC staffing at multiple sites and ensure program compliance.
• Research nutrition laws, develop grants and proposals, and evaluate grant requirements.
• Prepare nutrition education materials culturally and linguistically appropriate for the public.
